Yeah, I am sad the guy died. And I'll pity him if he died simply because he was part of a cult that told him not to see a doctor.

I have a fried who said it well yesterday. She loved his music growing up and appreciated his gender fluidity and pro sexual messages. But then later in life he broke her heart by turning into a right wing Christian who was against LGBT people, believed in chemtrails, etc.

I feel the same way. I loved his music. And I even liked his efforts to fight his own label for artistic control of his material. The fact that he was cult member doesn't erase all of that.

atheism isn't a religion but lack thereof -although some atheists are as bad as religious nuts when it comes to condemning those who don't agree with them. maybe the witnesses who come to your door and never bother you again after saying you're catholic are just being more respectful than you seem to be towards other religions.

possibly, they're looking for people who are not committed to a particular church and people who express interest in what they're saying. but a lot of evangelicals are also anti catholic. when you tell them you're catholic you're telling them that you're a member of their religious opposition.
