Elph I feel tenderly toward you these days. You're growing into a fine young man, it's obvious

How's that new strat sounding, you should play it while you're drunk and record it. Writing drunk is great for the numbskull riffs. You can mix that with the JB and the spooky sounds

New Strat sounds amazing and I was able to create this setup through my computer that is fucking superb but I don't know exactly what pedals I'll need to replicate it live and I'm already spending money I can't justify

ableton is probably the wrong program for you elph.

it's based on using virtual instruments, samples, and loops in kind of a modular way - for example, you make a couple of drum beat loop clips, some sample clips, a bass line, and whatever else - and then just fuck around with the way they play over each other, re: the structure.
it's much more dj-electronic music inclined.

it's a pretty cool program but i find that it pulls you in a very certain direction creatively.

I've got Cubase because that's what came with my audio interface. I don't know enough about DAWs to have a valid opinion, but I like it. I rarely use it though because I rarely record anything. I'll try to change that this coming summer, but I say that every summer.

What's that free one... Reaper? Maybe Elph should try that.

Even though different DAWs emphasize and lend themselves better to different pursuits, my assumption has always been that they have the same basic functions and, especially if one is a beginner, any good one will probably suit one's needs.

Listening to (I'm adding this to the form now): I've had Brian Jonestown Massacre playing in the background all day today but I haven't really been paying attention to it because I can't really focus on music and do other stuff at the same time

i thought it was boba tea. all i know is the drink comes with nasty ass tapioca balls that get in your straw and have the consistency of semi-solid snot.

Just... who are you?

Plus you can get it with grass or coconut jelly instead of tapioca if you want. Or like little pieces of lychee or gelatin I think?

It's cute how western people's pallets can't handle savory and gelatinous. It scares them.

boba tea isn't savory. or you mean western palates (pallets are something else) can't "handle" gelatin or savory? that's weird because western/white palates, i thought, love gelatin and jams and custards and pies with gooey centers and cobblers (barf to all that). y'all sure can't handle spice, though.
