I tried to make a portmanteau of "Rubio" and "cyborg," but it didn't quite work. I mean, "cyborg" is already a portmanteau of "cybernetic" and "organism," so saying "Ruborg" is just like saying "Rubio organism," which is more a redundancy than an insult. But it rolls off the tongue better than "Cybubio."

Doing a bit of reading about how this trend started I've found these are a mainstream version of Purity Balls, which is part of that modern late 90's christian purity oath movement.

Definitely fucking creepy.

Basically there's these rallies for mostly white men that are part fundamentalist religious service and party TED talk where the audience pledges to "Promise" to act as christian male leaders of their families. Which means commanding their wives and raising their kids as future followers of Christ
