Spending money at places like this pays builders, cooks, drivers, electricians, pilots, bartenders, groundskeepers, gardeners, fishermen, janitors, maids, police/security, and on and on. It's basically the one good thing about capitalism, that your money does go to others when you spend it - assuming they have fair wages and treatment.

I've never been to a resort. Not my thing. Expensive and repetitive imo.
