when the revolution comes you might want to put away that tie lest you be mistaken for the other side...

that's such an outdated way of seeing things because a dress shirt and a tie now costs $10 at any thrift store and nobody would be the wiser

it's like how tans used to be a sign of poverty and now every rich person pays money to get one

or how old cartoons always depict the rich as being fat because this was before processed foods made everyone fat

your perception of certain clothes being "nicer" is still solidly rooted in the idea that more expensive things make you better

It's just personal taste, I don't think it's classist unless he discriminates against others because of it. Idk, are you judging me for my t-shirts, Mr. Fancy pants?

They're dangerous too, I have broken my toenails like 5 times from running into metal things. But shoes are worse.

I don't like sandals. I'll wear flip flops when it's way too hot and I don't have to walk too much.

also, aside from the collateral damage of other people having to look at them, sandals quickly turn into leg prints made of dark tinted sweat infused sandal material (shitty bonus points for leather sandals).

When I said sandals I meant flip flops, sandals are worse than shoes with those leg straps

i actually wore cargos before they were a thing. i had friends in the cadets and i liked their pants and started wearing them.
in 2000 some fashion lady columnist on the radio said they were so 'out' by now. i kept on wearing them because fuck her fashion tips.

I don't know exactly where a flip flop ends and a sandal begins, but a good pair of open toed shoes is essential for the warmer months. Things I won't tolerate are all leather or toe thongs or any kind of strap, or a flat, uncushioned sole. But I also won't do a total beach shoe, like a colorful piece of plastic strapped to your foot.

what I just walked the dog in are semi-leather open toes with no adjustable straps or anything and a really cushy padding thing. They dry fast, don't smell, and are the next best thing to no shoes. I can slip them off easily when I am driving or want to feel grass under my feet. I usually buy a pair of shoes like this each year and then wear em down into oblivion over the summer

I do wish they could make nice shoes feel as comfortable as sneakers.

Formal wear seems to be all about being as uncomfortable as possible.

High heels are the absolute worst

i get nice teva sandals (flip flops? there's no velcro or anything. just toe thong or whatever it's called). they have some cheap models that are very foam-y but the ones that are like 60 bux have soles like sneakers. they're super comfortable and last forever. you can even run in them pretty well. they're also non-slip. my last pair lasted me 4 years, wearing them about 50% of the time i went out

the ones i have right now are 'men's' ones. the store didn't have any 'women's' ones. whatever. here's the sole

I have a pair of cargo-ish shorts that I still wear in the summer, but in my defense they are super comfortable and only one of two pairs of shorts I own (I've had them for at least five years and refuse to buy new clothing until the old becomes unwearable).

Aside from underwear, socks and undershirts, I haven't bought new clothing in over two years.
