I like how it combines respecting women insofar as they are the property of a man, and weird Christian abstinence. 10/10

Hey guys it's 2016 and people are still amazed by the concept of negative afterimages.

Oh my gosh total freak out!!!

I heard that the effect is stronger if, instead of looking at a blank wall, you look at the color-inverted version of the photo.

Also, has anybody noticed that Google Chrome shows Facebook notifications even when you're not on Facebook? I don't remember specifically linking my Google and Facebook accounts.

It's especially annoying when combined with the fact that Facebook seems to be increasing the amount of things for which it sends you a notification. Now it notifies me when anybody on my friends list is going to an event near me, which is a little creepy. Just today, a notification for that popped up during a class lecture, and the Facebook friend whose photo popped up in the little notification was in my class. Hopefully she didn't see it. It'd look like I was creeping her Facebook or something. And she's only really a mild acquaintance.

I've been trying to switch back to Firefox, because they're a little better about privacy than Chrome is. But Firefox keeps on crashing and hanging for me, so I keep on switching back to Chrome.

I know but I tried to install adblock on a friend's chrome and it kept fucking shit up. it kept making the script on pages run forever and then crash or something. guess I just assumed it didn't work as well in chrome

I kind of liked it

the malware might be gone but once your house is broken into, you don't leave your door unlocked no matter how safe your neighborhood has become. netphoria destroyed my family's pc when I was in high school

this one time my adblock got fucked up or whatever, and i logged on netphoria - the internet's dirtiest and most abhorrent brothel - condom-free, only ONCE. my computer got so messed up, i had to physically remove my hard drive, format it using another machine, and reinstall everything.

I personally always suspected my computer illiterate dad's adventures in internet porn played a role as well but that gateway was fucked

I've heard legends of Netphoria's malware, but I had no idea it'd be that bad. I just assumed it'd be stuff like adware or spyware.

I'm usually malware free, but there has been the odd time that I've contracted something like that godawful Conduit toolbar. Used to be that shit would download onto your computer just by browsing websites, but I think security has gotten better these days so that you probably won't get anything downloaded unless you download it yourself, whether that be from a fake torrent or not paying attention to all the add-ons that come with software downloads.

One thing I've noticed recently is a lot of fake torrent sites that look exactly like real ones. Like, fake versions of KickassTorrents that have the exact same torrent pages, but all the download links try to trick you into downloading some installer instead of downloading a torrent file.

goddamn that's annoying, do they really expect people to fall for that shit? I find it's much much harder to find good torrents nowadays. Used to be easy as pie, now it can be pretty time consuming.

Yeah, Google has been trying to stop linking to those sites, and countries where their servers are located have been cracking down on them.

It's pretty funny how these fake sites think people will believe they need an installer to get an MP3 torrent. It's like those "smashing pumpkins - rat in a cage.mp3.exe" files back in the Limewire days.

lately brutal advertising and spam has gotten worse, it seems to me.
even though i have adblock i get a lot of pop ups i can't seem to stop, some of them start playing ultra-compressed audio files with either commentary or music that's super loud and obnoxious, you get ads masking full pages so you need to click the X button which opens yet another spam page. just ridiculous

adblock is one of five best things to ever happen in my life. rarely do I get a pop up and I absolutely never get a banner or sidebar ad. whenever I use someone else's computer I'm like what the fuck is all this shit all over the internet

it's one of those things in life that seems too good to be true. one day I think I will wake up and adblock will have been a beautiful dream I had, or the government will just make it illegal

Honestly, you just plain deserve to suffer a complete system meltdown if you think you're actually getting an advanced Blu-ray rip of Suicide Squad that inexplicably comes only as an executable.

what's striking is the diversity of the material that that shit covers. I mean I was looking for some old Jawbreaker EP and several .exe viruses were masked as torrents. Hell, the majority of torrents I try and download these days are these .exe files.

I'm totally ignorant when it comes to this type of thing, but what's even the purpose/endgame behind that? Just having someone download it to fuck up their computer? Is there even any monetary purpose behind it?

I'd say that the files you find are auto-generated by the search itself, fuzz.
