i get that people use facebook to memorialize, eulogize, etc. Is it any worse than memorializing someone on the back window of an SUV? Or with a plastic plate stapled to a plastic cross displayed on the side of the road where somebody wrecked their car?

I almost understand the FB thing more than either of those.

i noticed last week that one of my oldest friends unfriended me. He's someone i've known since high school but now only really have contact via FB. I sent him an email and asked him why. his reply was "you aren't the person i used to know. i'm so disappointed in you that i couldn't look at your posts anymore."

WTF

Next day he emailed me again and apologized. He said he'd been off his meds for a while, was really depressed and had been lashing out at people.

Facebook exacerbated my depression so I left it. It also facilates conduct unfitting of ladies and men (I am not only including myself in this) which is another gr8 reason not to use it

Then he will lead the NSA to your pad where they will ransack your entire house and empty literally everything onto the floor like they were looking for something, but actually they will not remove anything, leaving you to a lifetime of not being sure if the NSA took stuff from your house or not. Repost now or you will perish within seconds. also there will be some horribly disfigured child ghost by your bed tonight without any eyes/nose/mouth/whatever you least prefer.

I think the thing that made me cringe is that Maher's accompanying text was "my two favorite scientists." Not that there is anything wrong with their scientific work, but I wonder if Maher could name the scientific findings either of them have made, or the theories either of them have worked on. He probably meant "those two scientists that I know of P.S. christianity is dumb."
