I know I'm a full page late but I wanna weigh in on the ten-year-old comic.

It took me a while to figure out why this whole thing rustled my jimmies, because in theory I'm all for young people learning about and adopting the art of comedy. I gave up on doing stand up pretty early on but I've always had a deep affection for the discipline of it, and after a fair bit of consideration I think it comes down to my opinion not so much that ten year olds can't be funny but that you need have been doing comedy longer than she's been alive before you can really claim to have a handle on your craft. 50 year old comics hate the jokes they told at 45, she's going to hate every joke she tells six months after she writes it all through her teen years. It's an art form that requires more dedication than a child is reasonably capable of mustering and more suffering than one would want a child to have known.

I pretty much refuse to believe her dad or mom or both aren't writing her stuff or at least helping her with it a lot. More likely than not dad is a failed comic who figured out his jokes might go over better if delivered by a ten years old. I have nothing to base this on except that most parents of performing children are living vicariously through them and usually pushed them toward whatever art they are doing.

Not to mention, kids are practically incapable of understanding sarcasm at that age. I would say the same about those child evangelist ministers. Sure they're very dynamic and they're using all the right words but do they really have an understanding about what their preaching?

I also concur with the idea that she's being spoonfed her lines by a dad who wants to get a reality tv contract.

an acquaintance of mine has spent the last week trashing his 20 year old ex girlfriend (he's 46 and apparently they broke up last week). I only today figured out what the hell he was ranting about. I usually ignore him, but he's gone as far as to post videos of his kids saying horrible stuff about her. And today I found out that FB contacted him and froze his account and removed some photos that he'd posted. I think they were partial nudes of his ex.

My little sister says she has a friend at school whose father works at Pepsi and does not allow Coke products in their home.

I've never felt that loyal to a company I work for. In fact, I always feel kind of smug when I shop at the competition's.

There's this guy in my class who is quite special. I'm almost certain he has a learning disability or something. I took pity on him for a little while and tried helping him with study because he was struggling, but when he added me on Facebook, he warned me that he tended to make quite "politically incorrect" posts. I pretty much blocked him straight away because of shit like this:

Tells you something about the true nature of society, when the feminist movement has gained so much political traction, despite allying itself with known murderous psychopaths, and even threatened a woman with bomb threats, and other threats to castrate innocent men to keep another psychopathic castrator out of prison.

Meanwhile Mens Rights Movement have trouble passing equal rights reform, and cant even make one little change to legal definitions of rape to ******* rape by envelopment to ******* cases of female on male violence.

And has trouble passing one shared parenting bill and alimony reform, because of the National Organization for Women continually refuse to pass.

Even when among their ranks are ex-feminists, egalitarians, and just average people who have commited no real crime and actively denounces domestic abuse and rape

Lol, similar story here. One semester, I decided to talk to at least one person in each class, in order to try and make friends. I made one comment to a random, non-threatening-looking guy for the sake of conversation, and he kind of latched onto me after that and would talk to me all the time. I could tell he was on the spectrum, so I put up with some of his awkward mannerisms.

He eventually adds me on Facebook (or rather, has me add him; I made the mistake of checking my FB when he was sitting beside me in class, and he tells me I should add him so I can't really refuse to...)

He shares a bunch of MRA bullshit on Facebook, as well as general right-wing anti-immigrant shit. I like how these guys always describe themselves as "libertarian" because they think it sounds less bad than admitting they are just reactionary authoritarian conservatives.

Should had seen it coming. During the times he would share unsolicited tidbits about his life, he'd reveal what sound like episodes of the standard supervillain origin of a Men's rights activist.

"Haven't you noticed how people will always call someone creepy for no reason, and construe polite behaviour as creepy?"

"One time, this girl said she spilled something on her pants, so I asked 'were they skin tight?' in reference to [some pop song]. She told me she wasn't comfortable talking to me anymore. I didn't think I was saying anything suggestive. Then I listened to the song, as the whole song was suggestive!"

Oh, and another time, he told me that he didn't buy studies into the prevalence of campus rape because they included instances of being pressured into sex, and went on to explain that being pressured into sex until you relent isn't bad. He likened it to when he doesn't want to go out to the pub because he has to study, but his friends keep on asking until they convince him, because that's apparently the same thing. That's when I officially became less than comfortable being in his presence.

I think the only reason I haven't defriended him is because one day when I have the energy and time I'll probably just tear apart his stupid MRA arguments piece by piece, and then remove him.
