great thread, I noted all boarders and locations for my next boarder hunting trip!

for real, I'd love to visit Florida. closest I got was an hour inside MIA, obviously doesn't count.

Keys must be hella expensive as vacation destination, I guess? Whenever I see that place mentioned it sure looks that way.

I've always thought of Florida as a mosquito ridden humid he'll hole but the formation of the keys is incredible, I love that kind of landscape. Mangroves and stuff and I wanna drive on the overseas highway.

I was actually born on Florida, in a caravan park. My family were the only Samoans but fortunately, fair skinned Samoans and Cubans look very similar and so we blended in ok.

one time i drove to key biscayne in the middle of the night and had no recollection of driving there, only ending up at a gas station. this is when i was really dissociated all the time... obviously

It's like 4 hours for reprise . I'm in Orlando, not gainesville, believe it or not. So it's like 8 hours for me. I went when I was really young. I remember thinking the drive was pretty cool because you're driving over water and there are uninhabited islands everywhere. I was bored out of my mind when I was there though. And miserable from the heat. I imagine now though I'd have a good time, drunk and hitting on the cute gays.

Oh yeah, 8 hours is ages...I forget how huuuuge your country is. It looks much closer at google maps!!

basically the only thing to do in Key West is lay on the beach and get drunk. which you can do almost anywhere else.

I'm not surprised, really. But it is silly to live in Australia, so close to the south pacific and countless tropical islands, and dream about going to back water fucking florida for vacation.

wouldn't you want to see something geographically or topographically different? Like visiting Colorado? Or going to see Lake Michigan?

Yeah, the grand canyon used to be the big thing, for me... And Niagara falls, all that cliche stuff. I dunno I think I just binge watched bloodline and was mesmerised, but the great barrier reef is probably the way to go, for snorkelling and beaches.

Niagara falls is terrible. Not worth it don't go there. There are many smaller but very picturesque waterfalls throughout the great lakes.

If you go to the Great Lakes region skip New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Rent a car and drive around Lake Michigan. Lots of cheap places to visit and lodge. Visit Chicago, eat a Chicago dog, go to a Cubs game and go see the typical SP fan shit. Visit Traverse City and go wine tasting and visit the breweries, light houses, beaches, etc. Drive over the Mackinac Bridge and visit Mackinac Island and see where the Brits drove the French out of America. Plus the entire Eastern and northern shore of the lake is filled with sandy public beaches.

Fuck Niagara it's a shitty tourist trap and the American side of the falls is a slum.

I mean you're closer to Bora Bora and the amazing Four Seasons there. Or the Maldives. Or Hawaii.
