i don't know the logistics or your transportation situation, but the best way to find a place is to walk/ride around the area you want to live. you'll see lots of for rent signs to places that don't even advertise online - typically for rent by owner.

This datum is not as weird as it sounds, but D and our roommate S dated for like 10 years. Since we were all in high school basically. They were able to maintain a friendship since then and he's a reliable roommate, friend etc.

When we originally floated the idea of a "trial separation" about a month back, the original plan was that I stay here (spitting distance from my work and school) and she move closer to her work. Everybody was OK with this.

It turns out that all the apartments near her work is either insanely expensive or insanely violent. Seriously, one apartment manager had to reschedule showing model unit because the CSI unit was there that day investigating a homicide. Plus she is a 4'11" white girl with anxiety that keeps her from finding roommates.

So to say I was "voted out" is a little much. We determined the net loss between us would be less if I found a CL roommate arrangement (a lifestyle I was already quite used to prior to getting hitched).

it wasn't really juicy. we were talking about fuzzyroes and how his stupidity is in earnest and not out of malice.

there has been no catalyst, really. it's just hard to a) be bipolar, b) study to obtain an extremely demanding degree and c) maintain a healthy marriage all at once.

being bipolar is basically unavoidable, even while medicated. i can't forgo the degree without suddenly having a shitload of debt with nothing to show for it. so ultimately the marriage will continue to suffer. it would not be fair of me to rely on her to cut it off, because that is an awkward position for her. she's very very empathetic about my mental illness and would never dump me over things resulting from that, unless there was an obvious and eminent threat to her person.

so i finally signed up for classes, and realized that i was building my semester atop a very unstable structure.

i have a strong feeling she will apply for grad school in either denver or chicago once the dust has settled. i will be very happy for her when she is inevitably accepted.
