I'm really sorry to hear how all this has turned out. It's admirable how well you seem to be holding up.

What's the most fun thing you've ever experienced?

Good luck, sir. I'll miss you deeply. If you leave.

What, if anything, do you most want to do before you die?

What do you want right now? Other than a different diagnosis. (I am so sorry and I'm sorry if you're sick of hearing that.)

quite a lot of seizures and i've been in and out of hospital for thosebut we seem to have them under control for now – drug regimen has been the challenge there. no migraines. idea is i'll start on some chemo in a week and a bit to try and buy some more time, get the swelling down further

i'm not anxious or depressed. just trying to spend my time doing things that i think have a good shot at making me happy

one of the things that cheeses me off is the fucking family meddling with the patient's diagnosis and refusing to quit or let go when they REALLY need to. the whole fight cancer never give up thing is important but a half-truth. sometimes the ticket is punched, and no chemo didn't kill them, shut the fuck up.

I had to talk to this woman for over an hour one time that didn't understand why they wouldn't give her 93 year old mother chemo for her breast cancer. I just couldn't even believe the selfishness masquerading as concern for the patient. i just couldn't really come out and say "she's 93! the chemo will kill her! she's 93! let go!" so i had to talk around it, suggest it, that kind of stuff. she tells me her mother is wheelchair bound and basically an invalid and has been for years. by the end of the call she was still "well they just want to give up and I won't let them. God will find a way." fuck you, lady.

you get really calloused at my job. of course you still have to cry about friends who are gonna go, I got news on friday that one of my friends at work has mesothelioma, he's 24.

life ain't fair and the world is mean

i don't play an instrument particularly well, but i reckon it's a similar feeling to when you're singing with someone and get to harmonizing.

What is your most cherished possession, and do you want anything specific done with it after you're gone, or do you not have that sort of sentimental attachment to things?

Was there ever a point where you were so frustrated with medicine's inability to cure your condition that you desperately turned to implausible things claiming to heal you, like alternative medicine or prayer?
