While I dont like fast food chain restaurant burgers, thin patties can make a good burger if the meat is fresh and its put on the right bun.

i have to say whataburger i the perfect example of the thin patty/bun combo but you know i'm already stark raving mad about that place

there's another place here called sandy's that's similar. hasn't been bulldozed and replaced with some piece of godawful upper class shit yet but any day now

i feel a burger should taste of meat more than anything else though there is definitely such a thing as too thick patties. I'd guess 2 and 1/2 time the size of a regular fast food pattie is about right.

also i have to say i am a bit of heretic with homemade burgers, i dont actually use beef....ground pork ftw. Both cheaper and better.

best burger i ever had though....ground lamb on the grill.

I had a pork belly burger with roasted red pepper, cheddar, bacon, spicy aioli (I know the word is overused or whatev), and bacon on a brioche bun a couple weeks back.

It was delicious.

I love how teb will carry on a discussion about something he knows nothing about (yet has strong opinions?) and then change the subject mid paragraph.

Is it your actual anus or does it just burn the whole way down?

Usually I get the burning feeling in my intestines (?), but when it clears my poop chute it's typically home free. The problem is seeds. The seeds don't really break down and stay whole and spicy as they squeeze out of your turd cutter.

or do you mean the naked vegan thing? i couldn't help but share. I've been on topic about burgers otherwise. My expertise on burgers is about the same as that of most north americans.

Anyway i could outwrite you any day of the week comedy wise. I know it, you know it.

Even then it's not like my asshole is on fire or anything. That sounds terrible.

Some sriracha exploded in my eyes last week and that was horrible. My mistake was shaking the bottle before I unscrewed the cap.

I never had any of that happen. you know why? Cause i don't eat/make ridiculously spicy food!

Well there's sriracha at home but it's cause M loves it. I use it to spice lentils soup up and you'll be making a gigantic batch and anything more than three short squirts in like what is probably 8 liters of soup is too much.

re: corporate spicy foods like wendy's\mcdonalnds spicy burgers

i couldn't really say what's going on in the us obviously, but at least my experience has been that corporations try to appeal to the most common denominator by making something very mild and inoffensive.

i don't really think burgers should be spicy though. it feels wrong to me. not many foods reward simple freshness as much as a burger

Have you guys had the Diablo sauce at Taco Bell? Noticeable step above the fire sauce. Shit's so cash.

no you're right about mild spicy being offered at fast food joints but wendys has a new sandwich that puts their spicy chicken (which i like a lot) with spicy mayo and fresh chopped jalapenos. it's pretty spicy really.

It doesn't outweigh how great spicy food so I just deal with it. I've come to accept that everything I enjoy has bad repercussions.

Might pull the trigger on this over the weekend. Assuming those peppers aren't old and mushy, which is why I was afraid to touch it.

there's this Thai dish called Nam Tok, you guys know that one?

it's basically a meat salad, served at room temperature, that is so spicy, it's basically designed to blow your fucking brains out. they serve it with cucumbers and rice so you can air it out a little bit. it's so fucking delicious. man i wish i could have some right now.

it's definitely a butt scorcher though.

That doesn't really sound pleasant. ...does it taste good? Like I've had wings that are so hot they have no taste and basically just feel like I have ashes in my mouth.

I've had it twice (yes really) and both times the jalapeños seemed pretty fresh to me.

yeah it's delicious. it's really moist, tender beef or pork, with toasted rice on it or something that gives it a nice texture and mint i think.

you're not really supposed to GO AT IT, you're supposed to eat it moderately and balance it with cucumbers and rice to let the hotness subside a little.

I took a big giant bite out of an authentic lamb vindaloo without appreciating what I was doing. That was a mistake. But when you know how to pace it properly it is so good.
