No, there is no way to change it. This is a mistake I'm working to correct.

Also what a weird fucking comparison.

>>implying you have to adopt every single last line of any religion's beliefs otherwise you can't consider yourself a member

There must never be any disagreement during Bible studies either.

If someone goes about their day, practices their faith in privacy and doesn't demand you change your way of life or try to have you persecuted or have your rights reduced for being gay, then what the fuck does it matter to you?

You're all awful and inconsiderate. Sticking up for the little guy. The American christian. Because richard Dawkins can be a dick.

You win.

who's sticking up for christians? the last page is people sticking up for people who might be hesitant to leave their religion because it is also intertwined with their culture.

which is why the football analogy is apt. APT I TELL YOU.

the notre dame thing is directly related to what i said abt culture. for you its an integral part of who you are, like all the brown catholics you never have more to say to other than a food order. catholicism is part of their identity for better or worse and with catholics its primarily a family value so to ask someone to renounce all of that is a really myopic and self righteous point of view especially considerimg how youre playing the you guys dont understand card

And I reject entirely the idea that you can't tolerate homosexuality and be a real catholic, same as I reject the idea that you can't be a real Muslim unless you support the indoctrination of sharia law.

Oh okay so having utterly insane beliefs about an afterlife and magical Sky Bro who hands out rewards and punishments and had a son put in a virgin etc is a fine way to live your life so long as you don't actually operate with any of this nonsense in mind. That'll surely work.

I want homophobia stamped out of religion. Not religion stamped out of civilisation. And I think that's doable and reasonable without having to tell people that their faith is wrong because science.

I mean Christians have been using the Bible to oppress just about every non-white non-male for centuries... but sooner or later they'll start using it to be nice to everyone. Let's just back off and let them get it right.

People can believe that all they want, so long as it doesn't harm others.

Read: As long as it doesn't do that thing that it's done since the existence of Christianity.

It takes just as more faith to believe in science than religion these days because truth.

It took people KILLING them for them to stop believing in it. The Civil War was waged to keep the freedom of this belief thoroughly in check.

But hey you're right they dropped it after a few hundred thousand deaths, no reason to go overboard and "criticize" them.
