if anything Moderate Dems have given bigots a pass for decades. The Democratic shift to the right under Bill Clinton's "New Democrats" is the best example. They did everything they could to cajole racist rural and blue collar white voters. It led to a slew of Dem supported laws and policies like the Defense of Marriage act, Don't ask don't Tell, etc. And It was driven by the fact that 15-25% of Democratic voters broke for Nixon and Reagan.

But the DOJ followed up on the FBI's request for granting immunity to the staffer who put the private email server in her residence. He had been pleading the 5th up to this point. Do you have any idea how tough it is for lawyers to get Immunity for witnesses in federal cases? It doesn't happen overnight and it takes teams of lawyers and several federal judges to see the request and grant it.

Trump got 46% of the latino vote in Nevada. Those are the ones smart enough to see open borders threatens their way of life here. Immigration policy drives down the wages of the poor and they feel it first.

It's actually a pretty big deal

The ever trusted Nate Silver gave Hilary a "more than 99% chance" of winning that state and winning hard

He has now said that it is one of the greatest polling errors in US history

Essentially what this means is that all polls, particularly in states comprised mainly of working class white voters, now have a margin of error around 23-28%. That's more than double the margin of the previous highest upset.

IMO there's no way to fuck up a poll that bad. Higher than expected turnout is definitely a factor, but it's also important to consider that preliminary polls are used to discourage high turnout under the pretense of the establishment candidate having an insurmountable lead.

So in addition to record turnout there's also the possibility that Clinton's lead was never as large as the polls indicated.

Yet another factor is Bernie's exposure due to the Flint debate immediately before the primary, yet more evidence that the DNC intentionally scheduled fewer debates precisely to avoid this sort of situation

Between the polls and media blackout or outright negative coverage (in addition to some legitimate albeit minor gaffes) it's frankly amazing that Bernie is not only still in the race but is actually poised to win the most elected delegates

Then there's the fact that the entire Democratic primary system is frontloaded with Confederate states and backloaded with the liberal West Coast and Northeast, yet another method of discouraging turnout under the guise of an insurmountable establishment lead.

Bernie has won decisve victories (57-86%) in every major region (Northeast, Midwest, Greater Southwest) with states left to vote. Then there's the progressive bastion that is the West Coast. Consider that Washington and Oregon are amongst the most progressive states in America, and have already adopted $15/hr minimum wages in Seattle and Portland, respectively. California alone boasts 23% of the total delegates and is widely considered the most progressive state in the US, and an "upset" there would mean a win for Bernie. Then again California is rife with affluent cocktail party liberals, so the whole thing is very much up in the air.

I'll quit pontificating but there's really no way to understate what a gigantic victory this is for Bernie
