true only to a certain point. If you mean that everyone in the world could live like an American if the resources were divided equally, that's false even today at a population of 7 billion. The most widely accepted population models have the global population falling after it hits a certain point around 10 billion people. As trots says, some of that will be due to starvation and disease which could rapidly become more serious global problems in the next century, but mostly these models are based simply on people having less fucking kids.
