T and his family make them every christmas because I guess it's a Mexican thing and they're totally delicious. But other Mexican items are more exciting.

we have one of those kind of restaurants (Lyonnaise) in my neighbourhood, but i don't think they make pig face... they'd probably only have 2 of them a week anyways.

that place is a rare thing around here... i don't know if slunken would classify it as hipster but the owners are really dedicated people, unpretentious, and if you don't have alcohol then a complete meal with saladiers costs 25$ which is affordable for good cuisine. breakfast/brunch is also the best in town, the bacon and ham are fresh and amazing.

yes, proper barbacoa. at least the mexican style. i think in other parts of latin america that's not necessarily the case

san antonio is one of the best places in the world for authentic barbacoa. in some spots its like theres a weekends only barbacoa shop on every corner. havent found one in austin but this city is super white

and big red is the traditional beverage pairing, at least in texas
