Default do you like scary movies?

I need new suggestions - what have you watched lately?

I found the Conjuring series (including Annabelle) pretty good, if a bit light on story.

I tend to like supernatural, demon possession type horror. Quite like Asian horror.

I just watched The Quiet Ones because it is on Netflix and that was a waste of time, sadly. Just the same old crap. Looks like Hammer Films is carving out a market sector in nonsensical supernatural horror - Wake Wood was more of the same.

Watch Absentia. If you haven't seen The Orphanage that's brilliant too.

Yes I've seen both of those - I enjoyed both of them.

Haven't seen Babadook, so I'll check that out.

The Babadook was pretty good. I think movies are less scary when they're set where you live and the people in them talk like the people around you - the stories seem more unlikely or something...

I liked You're Next. It Follows was good but not actually scary.

I'm actually excited for Unfriended. : x

Asian horror tips:

- A Tale of Two Sisters
- I Saw The Devil
- Teke Teke
- The Crone
- Uzumaki

Confessions (Kokuhaku) is a great film, even if it's more of a heavy drama than horror, I'd strongly recommend people check it out.

And for non asian horror I'd recommend:
- Mama
- Sinister
- Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
- The Thing

A Tale of Two Sisters was weird but good

I think Asian horror movies are scariest for some reason, maybe it's because everything sounds confusing on top of it

I hate cheesy horror though

I'm hard to please with scary movies.....but for some reason lame ass 1408 freaked me out. There wasn't even a demon there, just an evil fucking room.

Recently, BABADOOK is essential, and I'd see IT FOLLOWS in theaters...the music and sound design are worth it

THE GUEST is really fun (I didn't really care for you're next)

Pulse looks good - at first I wondered if it was a retitled film because I saw another one called Suicide Club (Suicide Circle) which sounds quite similar.

Pulse was remade in 2005 or 06.... and it sucked. The first is much better.
