I played 9 holes of golf at a shitty cheap local course (see it isn't exclusively for big timers!) as a kid w/ my parents and I pretty much thought it sucked shit

mini-golf while intoxicated is one of the few reasons I will willingly spend a lot of time outdoors though

Oh golf is notoriously in trouble. Courses having to close left and right. They were thinking about changing rules to make it more appealing a few years back. It's in decline everywhere.

my dad is a keen golfer so i used to go out on the course at our local park with him quite a bit as a teenager

i haven't been on a course in years, though. when i visit him we sometimes go to a driving range, because it's one of the few things we both enjoy together; he gets to practice everything while i just hit endless tee shots, which was always the part i enjoyed most

i've only played a full 18-hole round a few times in my life – nine was usually enough. a full round is a nice stroll around but it really does require quite a high baseline of skill in order to be genuinely rewarding, i think, and i never quite got there

Seriously though i never played mini golf until last year. It was me, M, a friend and my brother hanging out and my brother says lets go mini golf and im lke...well that seems lame and boring but ok why not.


How wrong i turned out to be. Hadn't had that much fun for ten bucks in a while.


It's not really a sport of course...but it's a really fun game. And yeah i know everyone else in the world has played at least once before. I'm late to it.

I meant in terms of watching on tv instead of doing it - ski flying, and in terms of "looks fun as hell" for paragliding.

I can ski jump about 4 meters, and land gracefully on my face.
