I don't understand how anybody outside the usa would take American Football seriously. And I can't see how anybody anywhere could argue that cricket is the "greatest sport". It's a legit sport, but it's also the ping pong of team sports.

I can't even put into words how fucking horrible I consider golf. Of course the culture that surrounds it is disgusting. But any sport where a piece of shit like John Daly can make millions of dollars can't be taken seriously.

i think its pretty easy to separate the games from gross country club culture
i mean less so with golf and not at all from polo but really you can find tennis courts everywhere, they aren't something w/ any restriction to a privileged class

My dad taught me golf a few years back and it is at turns fun+addicting and infuriatingly frustrating. But it's almost leisurely and social elements make it feel more like a 'game' than a sport. Like bowling. I dunno who would actually want to sit and watch golf on TV though (beside my dad)

Dunno about that. Here in the UK tennis is very much more popular with the middle classes, and you do not find tennis clubs and you find few tennis courts in poorer areas.

In poor areas you find lawn bowling clubs, boxing clubs and football pitches.

I think i could have easy access to a tennis court nearly every place ive lived. Including working class neighborhoods. Even back home in my shit boonies hometown there was also a tennis court. They're pretty cheap to build. And really aside from the racket, playing tennis will cost you next to nothing. Except for all your sweat.
