I think the reason they get mocked is because they have bad intentions. They aren't doing nice things to be a good friend they're doing nice things because they're trying to get fucked

Then the minute the woman says she's not interested they aren't nice anymore

People need to have the maturity to first care for and live for themselves.

I'm not advocating for widespread polyamory. Only a more realistic view of commitment. If true love and monogamy were so vital to the cohesion of adult relationships and families the divorce rate wouldn't be so high. Even people who profess to believe in these ideals end up cheating, divorcing, etc. Successful long term commitments between people tend to be based on a more mutual respect and a more realistic expectation of partnership.
yes.

You watch these movies and tv shows and theres no courting, no romance, no getting to know one another in order to build something special... It's all "who cares, lets just fuck already". The same goes for the love songs now adays.

I started wondering if there was some malicious force at work here with the goal of devaluing the meaning of romance and love and just bringing it down to it's baseline animalistic quality.

What do you guys think?

I'm actually curious to hear what TOC thinks about this.

There's been an arc since the 60's that certainly carries a political agenda that I think was to soften things up for the coming transhumanism.

Around here in SillyCon Valley some tech firms are offering prospective women in their 20's to freeze their eggs to dedicate their prime earning years to the company. The idea is a decade or so later they would have a child (find a donor) and be a wise mother in their 40's.

I figure by that point they'll be artificial wombs available. And maybe for the leet tech female, a robot caretaker. And who'll be the first on the Google block to just say fuck it and clone themselves with a memory transfer. Romance? Who needs men or woman if it comes to that...

yeah...there's a dark force pushing it fuzz. unothe1.

Nothing wrong with a little transhumanism.

I went off on fuzzy because he's a shit who is criticizing women who want to have sex.
I may have came off a little crude, but I had this weird run in a few months ago, I was chilling at this party and this girl was really into me and was coming on really strong and I was feeling a little uncomfortable because I had just met her. She was good looking and all, but I'm not really into 1 night stands or that sorta thing at this point in my life.

So I was all: you seem like a really cool person, maybe we can go on a date sometime. see what happens and get to know each other a little better? and she totally wasn't feeling it....at all... It's like I had turned her down and insulted her and it got awkward quick. This wasn't the first time this happened in my life either. And I'm a pretty lonely guy right now so I feel like I pissed away the opportunity for something good.

Yes, I'm sure someone the tenants or people I have plans with would notice when I'm all the sudden a-wol.

And yeah, I do consider myself kind of like an old-fashioned gentleman in a lot of ways. This wasn't always the case, but I've always been kind of a hopeless romantic at heart.

That movie is so awful. i've never watched the whole thing but it as on again the other night an i couldn't stop thinking how retarded this was. It's totally 90's. In the late 90s hollywood thought it GOT what gen Y was all about and it made a bunch of stupid "hip" films just like this.

This was a good haircut for Angelina though. It's so razor. (<---points if you can tell me what retarded late 90s film this expression is from. I always forget i want to use it to make it happen.)

Incubator offspring with nary a moment of love in its creation or upbringing. Filled with rote knowledge to disguise the emptiness. It's got a Philip K. Dick sci-fi edge to it and I wouldn't of thought it possible any time soon, but...with the tech companies willing to absorb the cost of egg storage and in vitro for some women, that camel's nose is under the tent.
