love how the only criteria for basketball anymore seems to be "wow you're really fucking tall"

that's what you gather from the fact that more people suggest the sport to people for being a certain height than whether or not they can "drain one" from however many yards from the trash can or W/E

i mean six foot is practically short so yeah, it really is at the pro level a game of length. but it gives these guys something to do tbh, anything over 6-2 or 6-3 seems to be pushing it in soccer unless you're the keeper, football it tops out at 6-5 or so. Pitchers can be 6-10 like randy johnson and it actually gives them an advantage but as hitters it's a goddamn disaster.

i always thought with basketball unless you were takin it for a dunk every time it almost be more beneficial to be closer to the ground, even if you are just crouching a bit on account of the dribbles'd be quicker/less stealable & also if you're shootin for 3s anyway it's not like being tall means you won't have to arc at all etc.

oh well, gotta have somethin to chalk up in the stats sheets i guess

My first bf was 6'5", that was weird. I don't think I'm short enough to be seen as so small as to be creepy/childlike, but I guess that depends on the average height of the country you're in. Canadian women average height is 5'4", so meh, plenty of short girls for that to be the average.

I actually have always been quite happy with being short.
