So it look like I'm going to the draft... so that's something. Probably should wear what I wore to the Bucs/Panthers game in December.

Welp, Nick Fairley is a St. Louis Ram now. Expect the Lions D to REALLY suck next year. Yes, he was inconsistent, but before he got hurt last year, dude was looking almost as good as Suh. Yeah, he was in a contract year, but still...that is two of the Lions three best defensive players gone a year after they had one of the best defenses in tackleball.

Unless they hit the jackpot in the draft (and I don't have much hope for that, given Detroit's draft class from a year ago was a colossal waste), this next season is gonna suck some balls.

Ngata is basically Shaun Rogers, minus the Shaun Rogers bullshit. He's solid, but he ain't Suh...which could also be construed as a good thing, I suppose.

I honestly wish him nothing but success. That man won't give up and I admire him for that.

Also the Eagles have awful fans, but I like that they're trying all sorts of crazy crap under Kelly.

Troy Polamalu gone.

Well that was a hell of a ride. I remember when he started everybody just bitched about him, then after a couple seasons he was the most liked guy on the team.

It was his time to go though.

Aging and can't stay healthy. It was time.

Sad to see him go, though. Polamalu was one of the classier tackleballers of the past decade or so. And he was a blast to watch.

I check multiple times a day if there are any new trade rumors about Mariota to eagles. I can't help myself...

By the way, this is exactly why they signed Tebow the son of Jesus the son of God:

Could be but isn't. They wanted a cheap summer practice arm with some experience. Also he's a nice guy to have around a team. Plus he's better than their current third stringer.

Nobody hires someone for an NFL team based on what the rules might change to be. Especially if it isn't likely to happen.

Obviously this is a debate without a knowable answer, but my experience of closely following Chip Kelly across two teams, and what I know about his desire to go for two over one, tells me that Tebow makes perfect sense for this. If the rule changes, as is widely believed to happen, then Tebow will be doing conversions, mark my words. If not, he has a contract with $0 guaranteed and they will drop him without any consequences.

1. Roster positions are too expensive for that
2. Just have your RB take the snap

Next argument, please.

I will be surprised if Tebow ends up as more than just another arm at training camp but who the hell knows at this point. I've read a little about him working with Tom Brady's personal coach or something so maybe he's better in terms of accuracy. He's apparently getting no guaranteed money so why not take a chance? Honestly, after having Andy Reid for over a decade the Chip Kelly era is pretty exciting. You just don't know what he'll do and even if it doesn't work, at least he actually took a chance.

Tebow has to be at least as good (bad) as half of the NFL's third string QBs. I'd MUCH rather have Tebow than Landry Jones. I'm positive he was signed as a camp arm, but if he's better than Sam Bradford then the team loses nothing to giving him the chance to compete.

He's a decent athlete with a hell of a work ethic and he's a nice person to have on a football team. I wouldn't start him, but he has the credentials to be a QB3 - Heisman Trophy, playoff experience, athletic. He's as good a backup of a backup as any backup QB's backup.

Plus this is the fucking EAGLES. SANCHEZ COULD BE THEIR STARTER. SAN. CHEZ.

Honestly how many dumpster fires are there in the NFL at QB where your third guy couldn't be Tebow? Plus he's Tebow 2.0 now! Stand back, Brady and Rodgers.
