how about both of the cops are undercover drug agents but one of them is undercover for the undercover trying to find crooked or dirty cops. during one of the investigations they two cops learn that they are half-brothers mothered by different whores who are both chasing after the same criminal -> their father.

then you just sprinkle in everything you mentioned.

if it were my script the cops would both have weird obsessive hobbies, the whole thing was a dream, and the father is now a woman.

Actually the action scenes synopsis i gave was based on my vague memory of Lethal Weapon 3 which came on the other day as i was playing a game (i often leave the tv on while playing)

So directed by Richard Donner i guess.

It did pretty much come across to me as a succession of action scenes loosely tied together but then again i wasnt really watching it.

no, im not a protagonist im the so called breakout character, one of the co stars thats so idiosyncratic or wild they become as celibrated as the leads

lead needs to be at least average enough to be identified with by the audience. they dont have to be good people, like JerrySeinfeld, but they do need to be an everyperson

i am very weird and also being incredibly cruel to people is part of the shtick. if i was lead it would need to be some sort of black books or always sunny kinda thing
