That is not at all my intention and I would ask you to provide me with something I said that sounds like gloating.

I have been in what could be definitely 100% called a controlling abusive (even physically, i was punched once and slapped a few times, and if she couldn't hit me she'd hit herself which was even worse really) relationship and it never occurred once to me to wish her harm (nevermind hit back, which really i think she wanted) or that she would kill herself. The person i had in front of me when it would happen was not the person she REALLY was. I would almost liken it to someone suffering from schizophrenia, nobody gets on their case for acting irrationally.

I mean obviously it's a problem, obviously they need help, but they're not doing this willingly, truly. I know for a fact in my case the person felt guilty, horrible and self hating as fuck once she'd come down. Which only made the problem worse for her because she did all this because of basically an irrational fear of abandonment. And naturally once you realize you've just physically and verbally abused someone or like...tried to set the bed on fire, you would naturally think that surely NOW they will abandon you....

I know for a fact a lot of people would say, well "she was a crazy bitch right" but that was never my perspective. No, it's a mentally ill person who needs care love and understanding and help. Not to just be dismissed as crazy that can't be saved. Not treating someone like this like a "fucking psycho" goes a long way. But of course they have to want the help. I think in the end most do.

I don't think anyone is saying eulogy was necessarily wrong in his assumption. Could be true. What the problem is lies in the fact that such a strong assumption was made without knowing any facts. It is like reading part of a quote and throwing it out of proportion.
