Yeah, sorry. Drunk post.* I was trying to comment on the movie, not the man. Which is where i think this even a topic, currently. Even if the movie was based on the book written by the guy, there're several layers of fictional nonsense going on there which will allow me to enjoy the movie and not then man. Who, by all accounts, sounds like an obsessive man who enjoys the idea of us vs. them.

Marvel...sure, the real story surrounding Chris Kyle is something Scorcese could sink his teeth into.

I see it as he was playing both ends somewhat and when his actions went into positioning himself as a truther, he was nixed soon thereafter. Not saying he was a saint, nor some demon, more of an opportunist who got caught up in the celebrity of his name.

He got caught so many times lying he was starting to fuck up his made up reputation.

Also, the "hero" always has to die in order to fulfill the "hero" status.

American Military propaganda machine built this fake sniper up to hero status.
They handed him over to Hollywood.
Hollywood pumped him up in order to sell more tickets.
The fake sniper started sucking up the "hero" status a little too much, got caught lying a bunch of times.
Hollywood decided he would bring in more money if he was dead.

So, they changed the script, added his death.. paid off Jesse Ventura for exposing the actor/liar.



That's a bit harsh. If he was genuine about his rebellious stance against the crooks in D.C., then he made the wrong deal with them to begin with and there was no way he could get out of it once he turned. But I think he did ultimately and couldn't be trusted, so they terminated him with an MK ultra assassin and made it look (relatively) clean.
