that's proper etiquette for exactly that reason AFAIK

in fact i'm under the impression etiquette says that you shouldn't ever put your utensils down until you are done

This is a great way to eat if you can get past the no grains and pastas. Just on that last point on natural sweeteners; go easy on that; especially if you're trying to lose weight.

it might but i always feel wretched if i totally avoid grains. fruits and grains are my favorite food groups you know...and then dairy. so i'd have nothing to eat that i like on that diet. i also can't digest red meat very well at all, idk that diet would possibly kill me.

Fair enough. It's not for everyone. I like it and it works for me when I need to drop a few kilos.
