There is a problem when you believe that what you were born into is what you have for life. That you have no choice. I don't believe it and have seen over and over that it isn't true. I have seen many people who grew up in poor neighborhoods be successful and have seen silver spoons blow it and go homeless later in life. BUT if you tell someone over and over that they will not be successful because of whatever reason, guess what, they will eventually believe it. Is it harder for someone from poverty to make it....of course it is. Does that mean they should believe that they CAN'T do it. Do they have to feel sorry for themselves? You know the answer.

This is the prevailing wisdom that makes the world tick. This is basic business politics and "ethics."

Ultimately, they see the world in a way that there are a number of skills to master and anyone can do it. If you can't do it, you're not trying. you're lazy. You're stupid. Etc. Their monetary success is a reflection of their "worthiness" as a person, invariably this person is also going to hold themselves above others and be spiteful to them for not "working as hard" as they do.

A lot of hard work scaring this old lady into thinking she really needs that insurance policy to protect her grandkids

A lot of hard work convincing that man to open up a savings account because he has a whopping $700 in his checking account

A lot of hard work telling kids to do their job because you earned that manager position your brother in law gave you

A lot of hard work making sure that law firm has a working network for all of their computers (any dumbass can actually accomplish this, i know people that work for in IT and they think they're fucking god)

A lot of hard work clicking a few buttons that make a printer print out a poster (20 years in this industry man i know what I'm doing!!)
