hey here's a brainstorm maybe they should get paid higher wages then we wouldn't have to talk about free public transport. if you can run a bus system on dollar rides then i'm not sure what the HUGE COST SINK is for the whole thing to be free, there are reduced and free rates for the VERY needy just not the REGULAR lazy excuse filled scummy lazy poor that suck all my moneh away!

they're stupid and lazy and they deserve it amirite

i'm not going to pay their way, i'm sppunk i live on an inheritance i married into

Cute trots. You are a washed up loser. You hate on success while talking about the successful hating the "disadvantaged." It's called being a hypocrite.

Here is a brain storm. Go to college. Further your education. Get a grant....ITS FREE!!!! Don't give me this "I can't go back to schooooooollllll" DO IT. How is that for a brainstorm. Take YOUR life in YOUR hands and stop relying on OTHERS to do it for you......Brainstorm over.

There will be no revolution. These people who you wish to start a revolution with......are all to lazy. Too busy complaining about "the man."

I think I was specifically addressing Elph's post that he knew people in SD who couldn't make it to a job interview because the bus cost too much, and my response was that there are always options if you need to get somewhere.

Sure, I understand that all kinds of catastrophes can happen to people, and it's a lot tougher when you have a family and more mouths to feed. I'm not being insensitive.

I'm sorry, I wasn't very clear...

Actually they march every time the governments announce a hike in the prices. Last time, for the first time, they could revert it, because, well, they were almost burning everything down.

The "free transportation" is the flag they fight for, but they will stop the protests if the hike is reverted.

I think is fair. Most of the taxes we pay are used to pay the country's debt, they are not actually used to improve anything besides the state-level capitalism.

And we already have free health care and free education (from daycare to post-doc or whatever is the highest level of education). So, it makes sense.

Your avatar is funny, btw. Here the ones who disagree are certainly right-wingers.

EDIT: In my city, disabled, unemployed, elder people and now poor students already have free transportation. There are even special vans that to transport disabled people door-to-door. Every student, including college students, pay half-price already.

it's easy for socialist like you to say something like that because you've never had to work hard to buy a car, pay for insurance and spend two hours every day commuting to and from a mindless job!

because people work hard and get nowhere and then shitty white people justify it because "they're not working hard enough"

"it's not my fault they didn't get an education"

"well if they didn't have so many kids..."

"if they don't like it get another job"

"well they could move out of the ghetto if it's so bad."

because as hunter s wrote in the 70s, this horatio alger myth is fucking bullshit and there's a lot less upward mobility than you think

and you subscribe to this self serving mentality that you 'worked hard' to do whatever it is that you do even though I'm sure you're from a place where you got a head start on life by having a middle class upbringing, access to health care and education and a fairly stable home and your mother wasn't, for example, a smack addict and you didn't struggle on the daily to be fed

of course i'm sure you're gonna come back at me at all the hardships you've endured like not having a car for a couple months and the fact that your mom wouldn't buy you a playstation because the divorce wrecked finances

Everyone I know who can't keep a job had parents who couldn't keep a job usually because drug and alcohol problems.

People don't exist in a vacuum so much of it has to do with upbringing.

Equalize all upbringings (which would be impossible) and then we can talk about "hardwork" or whatever
