i try and have compassion for my younger self, but that's because of all the therapy i have had. the whole process of becoming an adult (and i would only consider myself an actual adult since about 27 y/o) is really crazy. you get born into a world you have no conception of and is very confusing and have to somehow figure out how it works and a place in it where you feel comfortable. thats really not an easy task. you get dropped into the middle of the jungle with people who may or may not care for you and may or may not hurt you and you have to somehow come up with a coherent worldview even if no one teaches you anything.
