It's naive to think it will get better once "old white racists die off." Young liberal Americans bring with them their own toxic ideologies. I'm thinking of how much I dislike gentrification in our cities and we are more atomized and separated by wealth than ever. Young Americans are definitely the drivers in those forces for instance. I don't even think the people harassing that bus full of immigrants in Arizona (or was it Texas I don't remember) were necessarily "old" people. They weren't young but I'm not much younger than those people.
