I don't know if you get all the statistics on shit that happens to people when drunk (rape not even being the worst of them), I think it's safe to say alcohol IS bad. Its just something society is willing to tolerate because we cant do without it.


Also, its not as low as you'd think. Im pretty sure that ill stick to my random number of 1 out of 15 from earlier. At least. Well hold on............



Actually i just went to check stats on that. Its worse. I found something from 1998 that said 8.8% of college men (which i realise is not the whole population) admitted to having raped or attempted rape. Call me a pessimist but i i have a feeling the numbers now would be worse. Not to mention, how many didn't admit to it? As it is that's 1 out of 12 guys. I think that's pretty damn common. Take a club of like 200 young people, lets say half the patrons are men, that means you've got about 6 or 7 rapists out there. That doesn't mean they're repeat rapists. But they've at least done it once or attempted to.

And on the same page i found this it said that studies found a lot of men minimize or rationalize what happened so you've got to count all those that dont REALLY consider they've raped a girl when they clearly have.

Wel no i mentioned that even if alcohol and drugs were gone rape would still be there of course. But there would be less of it. That cant even be debated.

I just don't see how people can rationalize getting drunk as not being a dangerous thing to do.

A lot of the time alcohol may not be the main issue but it's what enables bad things to happen. It may not make bad people, but it makes them worse.

And evne not so bad people. You know everyone says oh dont drink and drive...and then you get around drunk people and see how many once a bit tipsy will go "nah i'm fine, i can drive". Impaired judgment. The only way they would know not to go and drive is if they HADN'T had anything to drink. It's rampant. It was pretty much EVERYONE when i was in college and i've seen so many people of all ages do it too. You think drunk driving is bad until you're drunk yourself (or at least have had too much to be legally deemed able to drive) and there's no one else to take your home or you just dont feel like asking for a lift and coming back for your car the day after and you think "well just this time". But then just this time is every time. In about a month from now there will be thousands of people doing just that for about a week.

That's just an example of the many ways irresponsible drinking leads to deaths, rapes, damaged property, so on and so on every year.

You can drink, you can even do it irresponsibly, its your right, it's legal and like i said not makign it legal doesn't work, just don't say alcohol, at least in a certain amount, doesn't make people do bad or stupid things and is not a risky thing to do.

In a way it already shows a lack of judgment to go out with the express intent of getting piss drunk, so imagine what's gonna happen to that lacking amount of judgment once you're actually drunk, it doesn't get any better...

And yeah feel free to be offended by what i said... I'll stick by it.

I went and checked something just for fun and i ended up with this.

1 out of 12 men has shoplifted (i couldn't find a specific stat on this but found 27 millions americans have shoplifted and it said the men to women ratio is about the same, so 13.5 million men out of 151.4 millions is more or less 1 men out of 12)

1 out of 12 men has raped/attempted rape

Meh.... similar crimes right? one day you might shoplift, another you rape some girl. I know i know, thats not really what this is saying, it's not really saying anything at all in fact...but i dont know...you'd THINK the frequency of guys committing a petty crime like shoplifting as opposed to a serious crime like rape would be vastly different...
