what I find interesting about these results is that 3 of the 4 biggest cities voted yes. Looks like the rural areas overrode that in the end, which is the inverse to the cultural tone in the U.S.
I think you mean 2 of the 4. Glasgow and Dundee. Aberdeen and Edinburgh voted no.
Biggest yes support came from areas of high unemployment and poverty.

I need to get some sleep. What a terrible night for Scotland.

omg! the jews are at it again.
typical.

this is just to hide the fact that they ran out of milk yesterday, but haven't gone to the shop yet. now that everyone's focusing on the referendum and the conspiracies around it, nobody will notice about the milk! obviously. false flags, everyone. open your eyes.

Do rural areas tend to vote conservative in Scotland like here in the US?

Being labor in the UK doesn't necessarily imply being socially liberal in an American sense does it?

ALSO KAHLO THE OMEGA CONCERN IS RETARDED THE UNITED STATES IS RULED BY A COMBINATION OF CORPORATE CRONYISM AND UNEDUCATED PEOPLE FROM SPARCELY POPULATED AREAS

THE FACT THAT HE SAID WHAT HE SAID IS THE BIGGEST INDICATION THAT HE HAS NO IDEA WHATS GOING ON

in a non caps lock opinion it was probably corporate interests essentially bribing small communities into voting no. for the interests of north sea oil and whatever, of course. that's where the world is at, democracy proves again and again and a fucking gain that it is completely debased and has been rendered non functional

you think downing street was going to let this happen?

you know i make fun of omega but..there's a certain level he goes to that is comical to me

i have felt for a long time that the votes in the united states were counted by the winners and that is held up by historical fact

this was a sham, it wasn't even cameron or "the united kingom" or whatever...it was a conspiracy of the wealthy, just like it always has been

the wealthy have a way of convincing the helpless that is truly bewildering

It doesn't come as that a big surprise. People always resist big changes even for the better. It's way easier to convince people to keep things the way they are

I know this was tongue in cheek, but the reason why I'm so gutted is that this is nothing like George Bush being elected. This was their one chance in god knows how long to become independent. They won't have another referendum in 4 years.

My guess - a higher percentage of older voters and English 'settlers'. The western isles are relatively religious, also, which may come into it. Not sure.

A decisive NO vote which we have to accept.

My city voted YES (Dundee) - pleasing

Western isles is full of old fuckers, miserable wee free church gits and as you say, a fair few little Englanders.

Oh and I was so proud of Dundee when it along with Glesgae said aye.

Yep, about 80,000 of us joined in 24hrs. The Scottish National Party membership also swelled by 15,000 members since Friday making them the third biggest party in the UK - bigger than the lib-dems who are in government!

As for the infowars stat '100,000' call for a re-count, I can't claim to have seen that, and most of the 'electoral fraud' claims seem to be dismissed as nutters, although I'm sure it did happen, albeit on a small scale.
