after he was recovered from the hoarding situation, they deduced he had cherry eye, which is inflammation of the third eyelid. treatment is usually a simple procedure involving removal of the third eyelid, which is not a big deal. but they removed his tear duct along with it. beagles, basset hounds and other such dogs have a special place in my heart. i want to adopt an older one sometime. they are the sweetest couch dogs.

I recommend it. Katy gets all the Bonnie stars and more. She watched me mow the lawn today and even played around it (butt up in the air pose) trying to get me to chase her. I use a reel mower so I wasn't being irresponsible or anything. She makes everything in life better.

my brothers dog is a houng/chi mix named bender. he is the calmest most content soul i have ever met. he just wants to sit next to you. if you're upset he gives you these eyes that he knows whats up. just cuddles. doesn't bark. doesn't have an interest in toys. he's just like he was birthed to be there for you.

i also want to adopt a beagle when i have the space. an older one, too. my family dog growing up was a beagle named Cornbread. also a mutt named Darwin, but I can't remember much about him except that i was really small and wasn't much bigger than he. Cornbread was sweet, obedient, and just playful enough with the most winsome big little eyes. when my parents divorced my mom kept him (and us kids). one time someone climbed the fence into our backyard and stole all our bikes. my step-dad yelled at him for not barking or being ferocious enough, i guess. :c
