when i was working at a bookstore a boy came up to me while i was on a ladder and asked me what my favorite band was. i said 'that's a weird question. i guess it depends on the day.' really, though, too many people ask that because they think 'In terms of quickly finding out things about people there's no better question than "What do you think about X band"' and i know what that looks like.
