I think a lot of teams would.

I'd rank them:

Miss St
FSU ( I can't rank them lower because they've yet to lose, I think any of the top 5 would beat them really)
TCU
Oregon
Alabama
Arizona State
Baylor
Auburn
Ole Miss
UCLA

Well, I don't think that Auburn should be ranked in the top-8(ish), but I think they would handle most teams in the top 10 more days than not. Maybe that clarification was needed?

They won't be the Miss St if they keep turning the ball over.

Yeah I think.

Rankings are just generally dumb but who would be in your top ten?

The committee should not release weekly rankings. So so dumb.

Its probably a way to keep fans engaged by giving them something to talk about. Radio loves it I bet.

I listen to four college football podcasts, two of which run twice a week. It is something to talk about, but there is so much to talk about without 'em. It's an easy way for ESPN to get ratings Tuesday evenings though. Bleh.

Agreed. It's a terrible idea and undermines the whole point of the selection committee, which is to evaluate ONLY after the whole body of work is completed. I really hope that the first modification of the CFP is to abolish the weekly expert polls. God knows they will go the other way and probably have a preseason poll in the next five years. Kill me.

I think ranking the top 10 is not very helpful, but I do think there are two tiers in the top 10 based solely on who I think would beat other teams.

Tier 1
Arizona State
Baylor
Miss St.
Oregon
TCU

Tier 2
Alabama
Auburn
Florida State
Nebraska
Ohio State

Also, why on earth is Dak Prescot being considered as the top player in college football? His stats are hideous. I realize that his TEAM is good, but he's an average quarterback.

Arizona State? Does that mean you think ND is decent?

Notre Dame can be decent, and they are a top20 team. As are several other teams on Arizona State's schedule. Their defense looks good (don't know about the stats). I wouldn't want to play them right now.

what's funny about this year is that it looks like one of my college football 2005 playthrus in 2014 and at that point i was just like "this is silly I'm gonna start over."

The Iron Bowl is going to be a smear this year. It's really strange that Mizzou controls their own destiny in the SEC. I'd much rather play them than UGA.

Those weren't predictions, those were teams that I thought were playing the best at that time.

He won't bite, though. If the Niners fire him, Harbaugh will more likely find another NFL gig (I'm guessing another west coast team, maybe the Raiders).

He never lost that locker room. He's made too many guys a lot of money since he got there. Quite a few of the vets weren't pleased about going to Baltimore for training camp, but he never lost the room.

He has (probably) lost the front office. But fans, like me, couldn't care less who he pisses off there...pulleeze.

Besides, the York's had their priorities exposed a bit when the world class super expensive Marble was put in place in all the Executive suites in time for the new stadium, but the grass on the playing field had to be redone days before the first game. That's when coach had the team walk off that field during their first practice on it.

Oh, and the talk of them trading him to Cleveland didn't help either. But that was mainly cuz Jed York (30 y.o. CEO of the 49ers) asked Jim if he was willing to talk to the Browns about it, which he wasn't. It's just a little curious the CEO would ask him if he would talk to them about it...

all that said...pay the man what he wants and move forward or risk being irrelevant again very soon for very long.

This might be oregon's year.

As for ND. OOF. That hurt a bit but at this point it was already beat USC or bust. But goddamn. Find a holder!

Could be, especially if they get FSU in the playoff. Oregon will beat them by 30.

PAC 12 ended up being kind of shitty, huh

And man ND mailed it in. So many injuries on defense. I still think Golson should be the starter. But I don't know why. Higher ceiling maybe?
