These threads always kind of depress me. Maybe because my list is always the same.

severin - He's family. Literally.
isle - Met him in London about ten years ago, we hung out in a park and played his old guitar. He seemed nice, but I got the feeling that he thought I was a douche. Not that he's wrong.
alisonmonster - Stayed at my old place in Vienna for a few days several years back. Incredibly sweet and intelligent woman, great to talk to and very easy on the eyes.

And that's it.

radio station promo swag

looking back, it's a minor miracle that i ever met up with the person who was selling his tickets for the Le Grande Rex show. both our phones didn't work once we got over there. we just happened to start talking to each other outside.

writing this is a little strange because the majority of these meetings are from many years ago now and im sure most people have changed considerably, myself included. makes me wonder if i'd have as much in common with people as i did when i met them (which wasn't always a lot). not that having a lot in common is required to have a good experience with someone, but it does make it easier or more natural to break out of your every-day and meet with someone you've only interacted with online, especially when free time is scarce to nonexistant

mariner - have met mariner several times, always have been the better for it. first was maybe in like 2004 or 2005 maybe, so around 10 years ago. been several years since we've last seen eachother. one of the most perceptive people i've met. also one of the funniest. i feel really badly, he was in town recently and i wasn't able to break away from work to meet up; need to email him back and explain. one of the best guys around

andyslash - met him once when i was in minnesota. this is a long time ago, maybe 2006 or something. was super kind, hospitable and fun. had a whole entire apartment filled floor to ceiling with pink floyd cds if memory serves

noyen - met him when he was in sf many years back, maybe 2007 or 2008. has a million interesting stories and has done and seen a lot in his life. kind of seems like trouble follows him (don't take that the wrong way please) but from memory maintained a pretty good attitude in the face of it

smashingjj - most recent person i saw, back in the winter 2013 when i was in amsterdam for work. made an effort to ride his bike at night to meet me for a drink at the hotel i was staying at, had some bike maintenance trouble and still made it work - very kind and i appreciated that a lot, he didn't have to make the effort. i was exhausted and it was a a low key meeting, but i can tell he is very nice and fun, clever and creative. would want to see his band play some time

monte - been many years since i've seen monte, but have seen him at a handful of bill corgan related concerts over the years, probably first around 2004 or 5 maybe. we do not have an easy time relating to one another

isle - this must have been back in 2005 so 9 years ago when i visited london; such a long time ago you can hardly really say a lot about it other than i have very fond memories of it if / when i think back on it. hope he is doing well! kind and intelligent and funny, at the time was pretty innocent (in a good way)

ropey_lopey - met him when he was in SF. twice if i remember correctly. was several years ago now. he gave me a beautiful photograph of a butcher carrying meat across a street that i have framed and is on my wall. thank you! really nice guy, very kind, generous and intelligent

luke de spa - second most recent person i met - must be a couple years ago now, maybe 2011, when he was visiting sf. very intelligent. polite. enjoyed talking with him quite a bit. good cheer, interesting informed perspectives on tech, business, and people in general, was really fun to meet him, have always like his boarding, great to know the person behind it is even better

i'm hardcore - probably like 2007 or something, so quite a long time ago. he was in sf during his travels. i remember going to get some real good food with him and his friend kahn and then going to a party and then some other stuff. very fun and open and up for an adventure. was a fun time, brought great enthusiasm and fun

spring - met her when she was in sf. has always been a super sweet person. we didn't talk a ton about her at the time, or if we did i'm having trouble remembering the details. has always been an awesome person

the omega concern - it's been several years since i saw ronnie but i enjoyed hanging out with him and did so several times. a couple times i went to the east bay to see him, those were interesting times. and a few times he was in SF and we met up. equally intersting times. he was a college athlete- pretty cool

i'm sure that i've forgotten a few, my bad. have learned something new from each person - thank you!

edit: oh snap, i forgot mayfuck! mayfuck - i met him when i was living in la, 2010 i think - he made the effort to go to a show in silverlake (a solo show for the main guy from two gallants) - which i'm pretty sure he did just to humor me. was nice of him to do that. was impossible for me to know what to expect given the way he boards, but it was a very pleasant time. was pretty reserved, but that's using his boarding style as baseline. i remember enjoying the show but thinking he probably didn't enjoy it very much. most online interactions i've had with him are several layers deep in schtick but in person he was not that way so it was an interesting contrast. kind person, pleasant and intelligent

Still can't believe people have met The Motherfuckin' Davster and lived to talk about it. How were you not killed by his awesomeness?

You'd love punching it. It is such a punchable face. Especially when its coming out of a turtleneck. Its natural for him to hate me though because I slept with his apparent fiance (I didn't know at the time) and really did him a favor by saving him from marrying someone who'd cheat on him. So I was that guy. He's still a douche though. Greygoose. Penis smile.

I will try not to take that the wrong way. I think I'm too confrontational with people and can't stand passive aggressive so that gets me into trouble. I also must've been talking more than spring or something. Which makes me feel bad because I think she would've rather had one on one time with you without my stories of mayhem all over the planet. I do tend to attract trouble though but also a lot of good. I had a good time hanging out and should've shut my mouth . shes way cooler than I.

i've met him twice. many beers were had on both occasions.

one time he came to brussels, and i was going to show him and his friend around, and the first thing i did was getting completely lost. ahahaha. i always get lost in brussels. i don't know the place at all. they would've been better off without me.

i dated a girl that posted here a long time ago, now she's married.

hnibos and me used to AIM all the time.

I want to meet caine and eulogy but i don't think they want to meet me. though i did see a dude crowd surfing at bonnaroo that kind of looked like caine.

i would meet any of you and i was feeling nostalgic and wanted to revisit and say hello! so there.
