i wouldn't call the us a threat. but they do have a chance against belgium. they've been playing well.
and belgium hasn't really convinced (yet?). ok, they won all their games, but it wasn't very nice to watch. (a bit like the dutch, i find.) i guess it depends on who they're playing, and how those teams are playing. if a team is very defensive, there isn't a lot you can do, except trying, and hoping they'll get tired after an hour. but it's not like belgium was in the hardest group, is it? also, there are some injuries in the belgian team now, and one red card, so that's not in their advantage either. if things go bad, there will only be three or four guys on the bench. heh. guess what the substitutions will be... i hope belgium will win, and that they will win convincingly. no more boring games with the winning goal in the last fifteen minutes. if they can't do that, then it doesn't really matter to me. they might as well lose and go home. i'm also very glad greece is out. because they're awful to watch. |

no, that's actually a public park in west Michigan. It's in downtown Holland a few miles from Zeeland. you should see how many people in this town have a last names starting with "Van". There's a wooden shoe factory here too.

you know when people say anythinh could happen but then Netherlands, brazil, germany and france move on to the quarter finals?
As will Argentina, as will Belgium. Most likely anyway. Not that belgium is known to make it to quarter finals but they at least have finished fourth once in 1986. So it would still be less surprising than the US moving on. |
