I used a public records search to try and find the address of the management company. And a cursory google search literally gives the names of about 20 different management companies at the same address and suite number.

the annoying thing about this is that 145 dollars is enough to be extremely inconvenienced but not enough to make a trip to court worthwhile. its like they chose that particular pricing point for that very reason.

they probably didn't do anything illegal, but I still think you could get your money back if you were difficult enough. My father, who can't let anything go, is a prolific attainer of concessions from rental management companies. I think it is just about being a really obnoxious persistent dick. I would fight it out of principle, but like you said it will inconvenience you
