I think the prevailing thought is that brook and deron should be in their primes and make up for the pierce and kg age issue and they did have a deep bench
But everyone's hurt and I just am not a fan of Lopez...I mean as a rebounder the best I can say is he's better than bargnani and deron hasn't been the same player as in Utah and joe Johnson is a fucking clown

the sight of Pierce struggling his way through the playoffs at half-speed last year kind of put the nail in his coffin, for me

all i heard was shit about the Nets wanting to "win now". well i'm sorry but throwing contracts at him and KG is not the way to "win now".

thing is i don't think one of these kinds of old all stars chase rings teams have ever looked this bad
like the lakers last year i don't count since except for nash they only added a guy everyone thought was the best center in his prime, nobody thought that injury would ruin him this much

but i mean the 04 lakers made the finals and the barkley era rockets were always a playoff team
the nets are looking like the best they can hope for is having a better record than the damn knickerbockers

Barkley era Rockets were fuckin stacked, there wasn't a single player on that team whose inclusion i would have questioned (i am happy to be convinced otherwise of this, of course). one of my all time favorite teams, Rockets circa 94-96.
