what do you guys think? I just walked a dog, stole a bicycle, smoked medical marijuana, got a haircut, had relations with a stripper. The game is awesome and totally beautiful.

however, the driving is bothering me. It's not as terrible as I thought it would be, but it just isn't as good as IV. the cars feel glued to the road almost. they don't seem to have any weight to them as you turn. on top of that, the crash damage just sucks. In IV some cars with fragile frames were easily damaged while others could take a severe beating. All the vehicles in this game are virtually indestructible. Head on collisions at high speed result in a broken headlight, a dangling bumper. disappointing.

other than the driving though, the game is awesome

ill play it when its 19.99 fuck i cant afford these 60 dollar games. but really this whole hype thing is so... just makes me tired. i really hated working in the game industry. it really depresses me to think about all the lives that are ruined and suck because video games are fun right.

adjusted for inflation i think those $50-60 NES games were about $80-100+, so actually they've gotten a bit cheaper.

it breaks my heart looking back at those horrid NES games like back to the future - and there were tons of them - knowing that somewhere a struggling parent paid about $80-100 for that.

at least quality control has gotten a bit better in the industry

most games eventually come out in a game of the year edition you can buy for 20 bucks

costs were way high to make the physical medium back then. it is insanely cheap now. dont even need discs anymore. production costs are way higher now though but they have been going down over the years. people making them make less money now too. unless youre a two man operation with a hit on your hands. all this stuff will be forgotten and is all made out to be some kinda historical event.

It does seem like a really awful industry to work in. A guy in my DE class was majoring in game design and I kind of wept a little on the inside when he told me that. Really smart dude, but I just have a feeling that once he gets in, IF he gets in, he's gonna just hate himself.

have you watched indie game the movie? i had a hard time watching it because it is really accurate. i watched the 2 hours of extras last week and got emotional so many times. one of the last games that passed through my job while i was there was fez. i wish i made that.
