I like that song as much as the next guy but if you consider including a song that has been played once an hour on commercial radio somewhere on earth since it came out damn near 20 years ago a plus when weighing up what makes a good video game, you might like that band too much.

Well said. I completely missed 4 - didn't have a PS3 at the time - but man, RDR is one of the best video games I've ever played. Don't think I've enjoyed anything as much as that since like Goldeneye 64 or something. Just such a well crafted game, top to bottom.

One thing that kinda bugs me about these new games is the amount of profanity. It's like they are swinging too far to the direction of "well, we can say fuck in a video game, so let's just have every other sentence contain two usages of it." Just kinda stupid when it's to such a wild excess. Reckon that will be the exact same way with this game... which perhaps is another reason why I liked RDR as much as I did: profanity was there, but not to a stupid point.

RDR was kind of boring to me. i appreciate the production values and the story was well written but i had to retire midway through mexico. maybe because i played it right after Fallout New Vegas and with the western setting my brain was kind of stuck in that world

i passed up bully back in the day but i recently got it on steam for $3 or something. its aged pretty good but i won't play through it until my backlog dwindles down (which is very assumptive)

RDR lagged in Mexico but the beginning was strong enough to keep me interested through the end, which was also awesome.

You should really finish RDR, one of the best ends to a game I've ever played. I also stopped midway through Mexico because it started to drag a bit but I went back to it and finished it and was very happy that I did.

Yeah, you're probably right. Maybe it's just that the 'acting' in most video games is so poor that it draws attention to it.

That aside: FULLY second (or third, wherever we're at now) the call to finish off RDR. Even though it did get a little spotty there in Mexico, as all have said, the ending is excellent. Was truly unlike any other game I'd played in that regard.

I am actually about to finish RDR right now... for the fourth or fifth time. It's a great game.

The dialogue and "acting" and story were spotty at times in IV but I felt like LA Noire and RDR proved that Rockstar can turn out something practically cinematic. I have high hopes.

i'm also waiting to get L.A. Noire but since reviews are spotty i'm not going to get it until it's dirt cheap. i'm pretty sure i'll like it, i'm a fan of that mad men actor who stars in it. but i need to start being conservative about buying games i already have 20 i haven't played

i'd totally be on board with finishing RDR if it was on PC. going back to my 360 is kind of blehhh but i might do it someday.

it's worth it.

as for la noire, my advice is to try and free yourself of any expectations gta or rdr have set up for you. it's completely different. in my opinion it is lesser than gta iv or rdr, but it is still well worth playing in its own right. It's very unique in terms of gameplay.

If you don't have room on your hard drive, use a thumbdrive. No need to delete.

The driving does look different. Loved the feel of the driving on IV. Online races were great. Never finished the story and probably won't even bother on the new one. I guess I'll play the story while we wait for online on the 1st.
