i mean i don't think either of us is saying that he isn't a GOOD quarterback. I mean Romo is a good quarterback, his passing and yardage stats back that up. but he'll never be a GREAT.

Kaepernick runs like a beast, but that isn't his primary job. right now even guys like Joe Flacco have achieved more in the game, and that proves Kaepernick has a fair way to go. I'm not discussing this any further.

200 yards per game. That is a whole ten yards more than Geno Smith. The guy was ranked 20th in this category for the season. If you read what i have said clearly, you might notice that this is the only problem I have with him.

why did i mention the Jaguars game? it describes perfectly my opinion of Kaepernick - a good runner (2 TD's) , but his passing game often leaves a lot to be desired. So what the fuck is wrong with that?

and again, against Seattle - 130 yards rushing, but 2 horrendous picks and decidedly average overall passing stats. That is Colin Kaepernick to a tee.

you might think it is unfair of me to bag on his passing ability, or whatever. I understand that during his college days he was more of a running/read-option QB, but right now he obviously doesn't possess the passing skills to be a great NFL quarterback.

Can he get there? Quite possibly. And i'll be happy to change my opinion then.

A quarterback's job is to win football games. Not sure why you're discrediting his running.

And either you care about stats or you don't. Wins, completion percentage, and interceptions all tell the story better than passing yardage.

He's not overrated. No one thinks or has ever said he's a top five QB. But he's good.

And your explanation about the jaguars game is completely unsatisfactory. His team won by 32. There is no way you can say his passing game left something to be desired in that game. They won by 32! So again, this is what makes me think you're new to football. Are you?

listen to me. my opinion is based on his PASSING game. Wins are important, sure - but Eli Manning's 2 Superbowl rings still leave him WELL outside the top-ranked QB's in the game today. He can direct a team around the field, yes he is a very good runner. But as i have said - his passing game needs improvement. That is solely what my opinion is charged by, you see?

if you really want to know, i've been watching football properly (as in taking more than a passing interest in it) for about 5-6 seasons now

close losses vs the Panthers and the Saints, where his passing game left plenty to be desired. yes i understand that both of those teams are very good against the pass - but if you're good enough.....and that is EXACTLY my point. he's not really very close to being good enough.
