a lot of moderates, libs, progressives over the years have supported military action against regimes that target their own populations. Especially in situations where it's done on a mass scale. Clinton, for instance, sent troops into a number of conflicts. I doubt his high popularity rating today is a result of consistency in the application of some people's scorn.

They didn't do anything to Israel when they used phosphorus on the Palestinians. It wasn't until around April this year they said they would stop.

More than likely, this will be carried out regardless of what congress says. After Kerry's speech yesterday, they seem adamant about doing something. I'm glad there is a delay. Maybe someone can convince Obama what a horrible mistake this is going to be.

IF anything is done, they'll drop some cruise missiles on a few military installments and be done with it. if you compare bush's and obama's military actions, they are functionally the same in terms of foreign policy consequences though. the magnitude of blowback is the same. obama may have convinced a bunch of norwegians that his election was the harbinger of new era of peace, but i seriously doubt anyone in the muslim world had their mind changed once the black guy got in the white house.

The Pentagon stood down. Told him to go get congressional approval, so he is. Here comes a full media blitz to try and convince americans to bomb Syria.
