that 0-3 loss to west ham this weekend was a little hard to bear, but there's a long season in front of us.

I entered this EPL season deciding to half-heartedly root for Liverpool, and god dam if they're not kicking ass

No match for Suarez, though. Tactics were awful to begin with. Why would you start the match benching Lamela, Defoe, Sigurdson and Eriksen? AVB got sacked this morning though. So that's a good thing.

vertonghen and kaboul are hurt, that explains a lot

tottenham's ambition is shown with how often they play michael dawson like they are trying to be a mid-table club

i still think maybe lloris isn't as good as the buffon/cech heir that some think he is; at least i thought he was a top flight all star superstar european keeper

still, bottom table clubs don't let teams womp on them this hard and totty has let 11 past against two top table teams...pretty inexcusable i mean this is soccer

I'm not exactly an expert soccer tactician, so it's often hard for me to discern whether what is happening on the field is because of management or the players.

It seems to me that if you're going against a club like liverpool, you don't want to try things out with the B team. The players I've mentioned have proven themselves to actually put the ball in the fucking goal earlier in the season. I don't know why they weren't on the field yesterday.

Our strikers are middling at best. Put the best guys on the front line, and fortify your defense. We'd probabily still have lost, but not by 5 fuckin points. AVB might have kept his job a little longer.

baseball is boring on television, but i'd choose going to see a baseball game over a football game any day.

i like watching football on television because i can see the action and the barbarism gets me excited. the advertisements and big egos can all go to hell, though.

they didn't really play the b team from what i see, i mean this is their hurt list:

Dembele, Eriksen, Kaboul, Vertonghen...probably more

those guys are all dope as hell, far as i know. i love dembele, especially

there's a few problems here, one is that tottenham doesn't seem interested in actually paying the cost to be the boss so they do something like sell gar-baby and then pretend like they're supposed to challenge for a champions league spot without spending that 100+ million gar-baby money on a striker. yeah they got Ericksen who is straight out dope as fuck but you know you're right, the strikers are boo-boo...but you don't need a top flight striker to score goals, provided you have adept mid fielders

all in all i can forgive one embarassing loss to a top table side but two in the past month is pretty much "okay it's obvious that you're forcing a system instead of using what you've got."

and also, unless it's because of injuries you should never ever never play your B team for Premier League matches, that's what the capital one cup and europa games against Anji are for.

a high line against luis suarez with two of your best defenders out is suicidally stupid

i don't even know who the fuck capoue is.

and that brings up another thing, why sell Caulker and buy Capoue. What the fuck is the difference, really.

michael dawson is someone that plays for a mid table EPL club at best. he's that dinosaur of an english centre back, slow and tough. Unfortunately if you want to beat Man City or even Liverpool that is not good enough by half.

i mean one of the first things i did on footy manager with totty was i sold mike dawson and made kaboul my captain

then i bought medhi benatia

i really don't have much problem with centre defense

hm i didn't know about that place

seriously zonal marking = genius. the 10 tactical changes in the 2000s and the 20 sides of the 2000s are excellent introductory articles that get into the depth of soccer tactics
