You still have payphones where you're at? They removed every single payphone in this city awhile back.

I use redbox because I'm kind of a miser with my money when it comes to music and movies. I think Amazon is too high at $3.99 and up for their rentals. If it's something I really want to see and can't find it anywhere then I'll pay it.

i just got done with spring breakers. i love trash noir but i couldn't get into it at all ... i didnt expect great storytelling but you can figure out the entire plotline from just watching a preview. it is one of the best shot movies i've seen i'll give it that

Yess, Benoît Debie, one of my favorite Dops. He also made Enter the Void, Innocence (I repeat myself - WATCH THIS FILM), and Irreversible.

Saw Pacific Rim in 3D today. It wasn't a perfect film by any means, but it really didn't need to be. Definitely delivered on the visual front, obviously a bit of a sensory overload, every shot just jam packed with CGI and shit but managed to avoid turning into too much of a bayformer blurfest during the combat scenes and utilised the 3D pretty well I thought. Guillermo achieved what he set out to do and I had a shitload of fun watching it. Certainly worth the price of admission.

how progressive was this movie in the 70s? great acting, lots of improvisation i'd assume. only a couple sets and it's basically 90% pacino through the whole thing. awesome movie.
i loves that movie. maybe even more than taxi driver...(i lump those two movies together since they came out around the same time and pacino and de niro (to me) are a lot alike.)

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut - A-
I can't hate anything about this movie, it's the perfect South Park musical. Watching it reminded me just how much the show evolved over the last 15 years, both visually and in terms of humor.
It's a fucking shame "Blame Canada" didn't win an Oscar.

Idris Elba should be the highest paid actor on Earth. I hope Del Toro uses him in another film.

Hunnam was good, but I'm guessing that having him do his Sons of Anarchy voice instead of a native English accent is strictly to appeal to the US market and make the cast seem more international.

Charlie Day does a good JJ Abrams impersonation.

As much as i think prequels tend to suck, It would be cool to see a film set during the beginning of the Kaiju war with Elba piloting a Mecha.

It's getting pretty good reviews and doing well overseas, so maybe it will at least break even.

If there was a god Pacific Rim would make a billion dollars It would be the biggest action movie of all time. It's as good or better than Avengers.

good, if wildly far-fetched. actually, having watched the first couple of seasons i was shocked how critically lauded this show was in the States, as it didn't make much of a stir over here. i doubt the ratings were anything special and kind of think it may have not got a new series if it wasn't foe Elba's award. what is great about it is Elba's acting chops - he steals every single scene.

Pacific Rim was awesome, but not flawless. Wasn't as smart as I hoped it would be, but still much better than almost all of the crap that passes for effect-driven summer movies these days. Some damn good performances from the supporting cast (like anyone needs to be told that Idris Elba and Ron Perlman are awesome). Effects were a little too dark and rain-soaked for their own good, but overall held up pretty well. Movie made me shout "HOLY SHIT!" at least once, which is a good thing. Go see it, ideally in IMAX.

B+
