As of right now, I think Christie is the only feasible nominee for the GOP. He is their best shot at redefining the party, bringing it back towards the center, etc. If they pick someone like Ryan or another tea bagger, they will get crushed barring a disastrous second term for Obama. Christie might not be able to get the base to come out in force, but the GOP has now lost two consecutive elections by running guys who will pander to the far right during the campaign, and they have to try something else at this point. If they run another ideologue and he loses, I think the party splitting up is a serious possibility

the Republican establishment shut out Ron Paul and Mitt went along to his demise. Had they gave the ol coot a choice speaking spot at the RNC without wanting to edit (Paul refused the offer), that likely would have rallied many Paul supporters to Romney. Then the mess at the airport with the TSA was sort of the last straw for the Paulies out there.
Paul mentioned on his way out, "its o.k. in 2016, we'll be the big tent" in the Republican party. not saying its Paul in 2016 at all, not even sure he's saying that. He means the economic conditions that are set will force more people to come to his awareness of fiat currencies and the federal reserve defending the MIC and illegal wars. That's what he means. That would create a big tent...that's why the establishment suppressed him the entire time. we'll see what happens to the movement. |

ugh. i dont even want to begin to think about another election. i had to turn away from all media today because i'm burnt the fuck out
but because i'm a glutton for punishment... i personally hope kristen gillibrand gets a good look over. out of all the players on the bench has the best chance to appeal nationally, unless i'm missing somebody hildawg running seems like People magazine stuff at this point. i know people think he's a joke but i think biden is one of the most effective VPs ever. he's shored up alot of congressional votes that otherwise probably wouldve went the other way. but he's old, made some bad calls (advising obama to back off healthcare and bin laden) and would make the democrats really vulnerable. and it kind of scares me that he says he's going to run. like really dude? i don't know if the politics will be the same four years from now but the republicans are pretty much blaming christie for what happened last night. there may be too much blood in the water for him to win a primary, but we'll see susan martinez might get a nod coz you know theyre going to be hispandering like crazy next time because as limbaugh said 'we're getting outnumbered' oh noez |

one thing the last four years has taught me is the modern presidency is changed. the 'eleven-dimensional chessboard' argument for obama gets mocked alot but its pretty much true. there's alot at play from the politics to preventing an economic meltdown and you have to be super competent
so hopefully regardless of party we'll quit putting people in the white house for dumb reasons. but lol who am i kidding |

Andrew Cuomo.
Christie has to lose 75 pounds to be a rational and legitimate thread. America won't vote for an obese president these days. |

eh i don't think she's any more 'liberal' than obama was as a candidate in 08. she won a congressional district that hadnt elected a democrat in like 80 years or something (though it was a wave election) i don't think it'd be like, say, putting elizabeth warren on the national stage |

I would like to see some combination of Clinton, Patrick, Gillibrand, maybe Booker (although he needs to be something other than a mayor before he becomes viable), maybe Klobuchar, maybe Durbin (although I don't think he seems to have the ambition for it).... who am I forgetting about?

he's got the charisma but before being governer (of montana lol) he was a farmer. so... not really sure that kind of resume comports with trying to be leader of the free world. he'd probably bring more white blue collar voters back under the dem fold though |

governor sandwiches is too fat but i did like how he's been comfortable with giving obama some credit with preparing for and reacting to sandy
honestly i don't give a shit about "bipartisanship" but I would like these shitbricks to give credit where credit is due |

they lost because they're creeps with no ideas and are deliberately obstructing any kind of change because they hope if they really ruin everything, they can blame the other side and people will scream tax cuts over and over again and then they will rule the world and masturbate onto their piles of money

doesn't matter who the good candidates are. The rabid base won't let them pass through the primary unless they spew a mountain of lies.
Anybody who will say what they need to say to get throught the primaries will be fresh meat for the Dems in the general. the only way a Republican wins is if the Democrats fuck it all up and nominate another turd. If Dems stay smart they'll work toward a strong woman or Latino for 2016. Minority candidates are good for dems because it helps them GOTV, and it causes racist republicans to say horrible horrible things.. |
