We went to see it lastnight. I was more so confused about the other little boy Robbie - at first I thought he was Hunter and his name had been changed, but then that wasn't right.

i mean i thought it was understood that she was a possessed person going into this movie. are you upset with how cruddy the movie was or because you didn't understand why she was way she was.

nothing scary really happened. the scariest part was the blink182 guy getting his head twisted in plain sight and that's not scary its brutal.

and the ending was horrible. obvious set-up to keep the franchise going. this movie (i felt) was pure filler. a segue for another movie.

I decided not to see this movie and we saw taken 2 instead, not knowing anything about it. I mistakenly thought it was a sequel to Taking Lives. God, movies are so disappointing right now.

I only saw the first one and I know a lot of people said it wasn't scary at all..but i saw it alone and then went back to my extremely creepy bare apartment on a cold rainy night and i was also severely depressed to the point of being really crazy and i was freaking the fuck out...

All that ghost stuff scares me but after the first one I could see the rest were going to be as stupidly plotless as the first so I passed. I like a bit of mystery with my frights.

I can't see any of the sequels being good. the movie seemed very superficial and self-contained, but it did a good job playing on my personal anxieties in terms of how surprisingly dreamlike it was. those are the only kinds of horror movies that can really get to me.

the first one is an example of cinema verite at its best imo.

@ cbag - i've always loved "self-contained" movies - if by what you mean is the isolationist feeling throughout the filming - no context of the outside world

not to mention the fact that most of the movie happens while the characters are asleep or supposed to be asleep rather

yeah I love it too. which is why I really don't want any more from the franchise. more context or stories would kind of ruin what it had going for it.
