Also you don't spend money on a therapy but on trippin? Sure, it's all depression, nothing to do with the way you keep fucking up your body.

Because fuck I am trying to will it away! I've surrounded myself with new people, places, things, and experiences and I hate them all and they make me want to die. That is not right, I fear.

Keep an eye on things, can you go to the dr. without insurance? I was addicted and depressed for a long time and they are separate issues though the overall effect of the drugs was to worsen my depression. I was self-medicating with drugs so it alleviated things for a while but the chemical aftermath for my brain left me feeling a bit worse. I'm off the drugs and still depressed though so I get what you mean about it being a separate issue. Be kind to yourself...can you take a long bath or shower with nice smelling stuff? Or make a huge pot of herbal tea or moisturise your arms with scented moisturizer. You won't be able to punish yourself well.

. I tried for years and years. It doesn't work. Wellness begins with self care, not self hatred. It takes a long time to be ready for that though.

i don't subscribe to the "rock-bottom" belief

however, ilp, just because you don't see a direct cause and effect doesnt mean it doesn't play a signifigant role...

for example, you feel like shit... you do drugs instead of working on not feeling like shit... is it the drugs making you feel like shit? no. but it is preventing you from doing real work - you dig me?

i'm not saying this is exactly what is happening but i think it's a bigger problem then you think.

even psychedelics can be used for these purposes under certain circumstances. i started doing it with LSD. i felt in control while on it, like i could make anything happen, and in a sense i could (in my mind, w/ hallucinations and whatnot) - and that is all well and good - if it's not what you live for

i dont have advice just be careful out there and dont be afraid to get outside help

there are sliding scale places. look for community center type places. here there's a lot of jewish family services places that won't charge you a thing if you can't afford it.

whether it started with depression or substance abuse doesnt really matter at this point, it is being perpetuated and you are right you are in a hole that will get deeper until you realize it's not working anymore and change a lot of stuff but thats different for everyone and i wont pretend to know the secret to... whatever... changing. but getting professional help is a good start

i am not the same as you; but much of my problem was purely biochemical. both from drug use and lack of helpful medication

value and meaning change all the time, don't they? maybe it's coming to terms with that that's really the 'secret'?
