my dad is more schizoid like than anything if i had to label him, maybe autism spectrum as well. he is socially retarded. he can't have normal conversations, like back and forth, he's either talking or you're talking and the two never meet. it's hard to explain. i dont know how he ever was in romantic relationships or is in one now. ive never seen him or mom my so much as hug each other my entire childhood and he makes weird sexual remarks all the time about people that are super inappropriate in front of a daughter

my mom is more BPD-ish. i dont think either of them are narcissists. my mom has a martyr complex thing going on

i feel bad for them tbh

Usually when someone starts to talk about this, it means they feel out of control with it and want to get help. Otherwise they keep it hidden.

it definitely affects a person growing up. i mean on one level i have a hard time even saying the word alcoholic but everyone around me (my brother, my current and past therapist, whoever) says she is and i can see it. i don't know it's just normal to me now

Yeah, it is hard to say it for many reasons. His alcoholism created an atmosphere where we never knew how the mood was going to be. My mom was his care taker, even went to the store to get his beer for him. Sorry you are going through this.
