it's more reacting to other people - you learn the signs from others about what emotion they expect you to convey, and then you do so, be it guilt or whatever. usually i don't feel like I "should" feel guilt, but moreso am concerned with the possible consequences of an action I have taken

i know not all sociopaths are the same, but to say you have a code and a sense of justice... have you not done things that you deserve some kind of justice for? is your code just a way to tell yourself what you do (within your code) is ok?

yes, in a way. in that there are some lines you should never cross, some things that are more important than others, etc. there is a definite right and wrong, it's not like I don't know the difference.

i understand the appeal of not feeling guilt, and i know you don't care but empathy is the core of human connectedness (imo), and just as you can't imagine feeling it i cannot imagine feeling at all alive without it. guilt is the same to some extent, it's a sign that you are doing something you shouldn't be doing - if it's working correctly.

i honestly feel I am far more effective without empathy. because i am not "sharing" an emotional experience with someone I am better able to help them through it.
